Author Guidelines – Jurnal Analisis Pendidikan Sosial (JAPS)

1. General Requirements

  • The manuscript must be original, unpublished, and not under review in another journal.
  • Manuscripts may be written in either Bahasa Indonesia or English. If written in Bahasa Indonesia, the author must provide an abstract and keywords in English.
  • The manuscript should be between 6,000 and 8,000 words, excluding references and footnotes.
  • Authors are fully responsible for the originality and academic integrity of the submitted work.
  • Manuscripts must follow the article template provided by the journal.

2. Types of Articles

Jurnal Analisis Pendidikan Sosial (JAPS) accepts two types of submissions:

  • Original Research Articles: Empirical research articles using qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods.
  • Theoretical Articles: Articles discussing concepts, theories, or approaches in the field of education and social sciences.

3. Article Structure

  • Title: Written in uppercase, concise, and reflective of the article’s content; maximum 15 words.
  • Author Information: Full name without academic titles. Institutional affiliation must be stated clearly, along with the email address of the corresponding author (marked with an asterisk *).
  • Abstract: Written in both Bahasa Indonesia and English. 150–200 words in a single paragraph, single-spaced. The abstract should include background, purpose, method, main findings, and conclusion.
  • Keywords: 3–5 relevant terms or phrases. Placed below the abstract and italicized.

4. Main Article Sections

Introduction

  • Explains the background, research gap, urgency, objectives, and research questions.
  • Supported by relevant theories and previous studies.
  • Comprises approximately 20% of the total manuscript.

Research Method

  • Describes the research approach, subjects, instruments, data collection, and analysis techniques.
  • For qualitative studies: approx. 10% of the manuscript.
  • For quantitative studies: approx. 15% of the manuscript.

Results and Discussion

  • Organized into two subheadings: "Results" and "Discussion".
  • Results may be presented using tables, graphs, or figures with concise explanations.
  • The discussion connects findings with theory and prior research.
  • This section should make up at least 60% of the manuscript.

Conclusion

  • Summarizes the key findings substantively and answers the research objectives/questions.
  • May include suggestions and directions for future research.

Acknowledgments (optional)

  • Directed to supporting institutions, sponsors, contributors, or key individuals involved in the research.

References

  • Must follow APA (7th edition) style, arranged alphabetically, and only include sources cited in the text.

5. Tables and Figures

  • Numbered sequentially (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1).
  • Titles should be placed above; source notes below.
  • Avoid using vertical lines in tables.
  • All tables/figures must be referenced in the text and should not be excessive.

6. Footnotes and Citations

  • Footnotes should only be used when necessary.
  • Written in 10 pt font, marked with superscript numbers.
  • In-text citations and references must follow APA Style (7th edition).

7. Submission Process

  • Manuscripts must be submitted via the OJS system at: https://journal.sintesia.id/index.php/japs
  • All submissions undergo double-blind peer review.
  • Authors must register and create an account on the journal website before submission.

8. Publication Fee

  • Submission Fee: Free
  • Article Processing Charge (APC): IDR 250,000 (only payable after article acceptance)

9. Copyright and License

By submitting an article to this journal, the author agrees to grant publishing rights to JAPS under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.
